J – Job Search Assistance (j.u.s.t.)

Eligibility includes anyone with a social insurance number residing in the North Eastman Service area.
Participant profiles may look like any one of the following:
Individuals who have a current or previous Employment Insurance (EI) claim
Job threatened individuals who have written notice of lay-off or a medical certificate indicating that a new occupation is required for medical reasons and who will be eligible for E.I. benefits when their current employment ends
Individuals who are in receipt of Provincial or Band (EIA) Employment and Income Assistance
Unemployed individuals who are not EIA or EI insured clients
Teen aged individuals with a SIN, in school or not, needing help with job search assistance or career development and planning

Job Search Assistance

Cover letters, resume development, interview skills workshops, labour market information and assistance.

Career Development Assistance

Career planning, development of a skills training plan, skills upgrading, and financial assistance supports.

The Intake & Assessment Process

We provide information to new clients about the Department of Manitoba Economic Development Investment and Trade Workforce Training and Employment Division programs including self employment, wage subsidy, skills training, current labour market information and employment assistance services. We complete assessments on each clients’ strengths and barriers in order to develop and maintain meaningful employment and develop return to work action plans with each new client and case manage clients while in training, until employment is secured.

We provide referrals to other community agencies when required.

Resources

Laptops are available for clients use to support Job Search Assistance & basic computer skills training.

Fax, scan and photocopy services are available to assist you with your Job Search.
